Standing in the Gap: Supporting Missionaries Rebuilding Hope in Rural Lusikisiki
Dear Friend and Supporter,
The Johann Grobler Foundation is standing alongside those who bring hope to under served communities. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Nomntu and Lambo (their photo > bottom of the page)—a missionary couple who have returned to their roots in rural Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape, after serving in Klerksdorp and greater Johannesburg.
Driven by their passion and calling to serve, they are now re-establishing themselves as missionaries in this deeply rural part of South Africa. Their vision is simple: to bring support and hope to communities facing deep social and economic hardship.
However, their return has not come without unexpected challenges.
Lambo had secured a job at a local funeral home to support their household, but the opportunity fell through without notice. This sudden loss of income has placed the family under considerable strain, especially in covering essentials such as rent, electricity, and chronic medication for their children. Some medication may not always be available through government clinics.
In the face of these challenges, Nomntu and Lambo have not stood still. Nomntu has begun sewing items to generate income, and they are working with local partners to set up a small food stall. These initiatives show promise, but will take time to become sustainable.
How You Can Help
To help them through this critical transition period, we are seeking donors or partners who can contribute toward their monthly living expenses of $380 (approx. R7,000). This support will serve as a lifeline while they stabilize their income and continue their impactful work in the Lusikisiki community.
If you are in a position to help, or if you know of someone that can assist, we ask that you please reach out. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
